Description
Honda CBR 900RR Fireblade .
Hi and welcome to the sale of my 1996 fireblade. I'm selling due to buying it on impulse and finding that my right elbow aches like mad after a ride!!!
Genuine reason … I am 56 now and I have loved Blades over the years (in particular this model and colour scheme .. the best I reckon) and I change bikes like I change channels on the TV i.e. often … but I hankered after another and saw this and fell in love … alas another hobby is mountain biking and I broke my elbow at Cannock Chase and couple of years back and its now a dicky elbow and so a riding position such as this just aches so I am going to have to go back to something a little less sporty.
However … back to the lovely bike!
I purchased this bike a few weeks back from a smashing bloke who was fastidious in how he looked after it … a credit to him.
I have only done about 800 miles on her since purchase and putting 12 mths MOT on it in May last month.
Dry use only. The chap didnt have any service history with the bike when I purchased it as he used to carry out the services. He did a service at 33,800 miles (I have receipts) using castrol power 1 , irridium spark plugs , magnetic sump plug , k&n oil filter , K&n air filter , carb breather filter, DID chain & sprocket kit. rear brake pads ebc hh costing him about £200 and after doing this service she ran with a little flat spot mid rev range due to the high flow performance air filter and the race can. So he also had her booked in to RJS superbikes at Mallory park who had her on the rolling road and they stripped carbs, ultra sonic cleaned them and dyno jetted her to cure this problem. she has 120.82 BHP and I have the print out, this cost him £300 at Rjs.
She rides lovely, real clean power and super smooth for a 1996 bike.
Please dont be put off by the age as these bikes are absolute great bikes, handling , power , everything is great. .
The last owner recently replaced the fairing as the old one showed a few hair line cracks and slight marks from previous owners over the years (I saw the old fairing), so its in exact colour scheme as previous just not original Honda due to Honda replacement fairing would of been about 2k and not £400 .
If I am picky there is a slight colour difference in front mudguard as that’s still original one on but its not that bad but just thought I’d point it out .
I had her through checked over at Lees Motorcycles in Ledbury when it was mot’d and it passed with no advisory’s … and a load of praise from Jason the owner of the shop, he said she is a corker and reckoned in this condition will gain in value over the next few years. I had him bleed the brakes and fit a new grab rail for the rear.
I have also had the seats recovered 2 weeks ago by a chap in Weston - Super- Mare … they look great (see pics)
All in all she’s a 20 year old bike that had the odd mark on but she is a very genuine and clean machine that rides superbly.
Plenty of power if required with an fantastic and addictive sound and will make someone a very good sports bike that are becoming collectable and sort after.
Be sad to see her go if I’m honest but its no good if I am in pain after a ride.
Anyway thanks for looking and advertised elsewhere so reserve the right to remove at any time.
Please no silly offers as she’s reasonably priced and she had a fair bit spent to spoil her and keep her tip top condition … not looking to make a profit but don’t want to lose loads of dosh either!
NO test pilots unless money is in my hand. You crash her you lose your money. Viewing recommended.
Any questions please feel free to contact me or message to arrange a viewing.
STRICTLY Cash on collection please, I have no time to mess with Couriers etc.
There are loads of Blades for sale but mine is a lovely one … you won’t be disappointed.
I’m looking for a more upright bike (Varadero or maybe something not quite as hunched so Blackbird etc) so may be interested in a swap and some cash your way? ..........
