Part-time nanny / housekeeper for 2 lovely children (aged 9 & 11) in Northfields area of Ealing
Description
We are a family in the Northfields area of Ealing with two lovely children (boy 11 and girl 9) looking for a part-time caring and enthusiastic nanny / housekeeper for 4 days (Monday to Thurs) a week from September.
We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours a week during term time. These hours would be from 2.30 to 6.30 Monday to Thursday covering the housekeeping duties as described below as well as collection of our daughter from school and supervising our children’s activities after school including planning and preparing nutritious evening meals . Our son is at secondary school and comes home on his own.
Housekeeping duties:
• housework for the children (laundry, cleaning the children’s rooms, food shopping etc)
• evening babysits (on weekdays only and these would be additional hours )
• light housework for the family (e.g. running errands and light food shopping - this would not involve general cleaning as we have a cleaner who cleans the whole house apart from the children’s bedrooms). Keeping the downstairs clean and tidy at all times, occasional laundry duties and other general housekeeping requests. Would need to be proactive about helping the family to plan ahead for the children and keeping everything on track.
During school holidays hours we may request our nanny to work longer hours and could be all day (8 to 6.30)
The role involves:
• Looking after our children after school, including collecting our daughter from school and taking her / them to after school activities, and organising playdates. A car is not required as everything is very close.
• Cooking varied and nutritious meals.
• Ensuring the children’s clothes are washed and ironed and their bedrooms are cleaned and that they always have school uniform/ sports kits clean, washed and ironed. Also ensure communal areas are tidy at the end of the day.
• Overseeing some homework, music and reading.
• General light housekeeping duties for the children and sometimes for the family (this would not involve general household cleaning as we have a cleaner who cleans the whole house apart from the children’s bedrooms)
• In school holidays organising fun and stimulating activities including with school friends
We need someone who is flexible. Both parents have very busy jobs and we need someone who can sometime stay later into the evening and do babysits- this is sometimes at short notice.
Ofsted registration is required. If you do not have this we would be happy for you to obtain the registration within the first few months of employment. You must be CRB checked.
An excellent command of English is required to ensure good communication with the children and the parents.
We will pay competitive rates per hour with tax and national insurance paid as well as paid holidays. Start on Monday 5 September 2016.
We are looking for someone who loves being with children. Our children are outgoing and fun and we are looking for a nanny who has the same attitude, combined with great organisational skills, and flexibility to work as part of a team with a busy happy working family.
Please get in touch if you are interested.
