Description
British Native floating pond plant Stratiotes aloides has spiked, jagged edged foliage in brown/olive green
Height 10cm (4") green foliage tips above water surface late in the season.
White, 3 petalled flowers from July
Water Soldiers float at/near the pond surface in Summer in a sunny or partially shaded pond and like nutrient rich water.
Supplied bareroot to drop into the deep area of the pond.
Allow Water Soldier plants to drop below the water level as the water cools in Autumn and overwinter on the pond floor as dormant buds. When they rise again in the warm weather of Spring each will have a new auxiliary shoot with a new young plant.
