Yoga for Pregnancy
Omschrijving
Yoga for Pregnancy at the Pregnancy and Parents Centre is extremely popular as it is a wonderful preparation for the challenges of pregnancy, labour, birth, and becoming a mother focusing on breathing awareness, grounding, posture, relaxation and movements for pregnancy and labour. It is a time to lengthen, open, release and relax. Each woman, her pregnancy and birth is unique and so we help you to find YOUR way with yoga.
We believe that our sessions are special because our knowledge of birth and experience in supporting women is incorporated into the sessions so that we can guide you at your own pace which helps you to tap into your own inner knowledge and intuition and enhances your connection with your baby.
Research shows that yoga during pregnancy reduces anxiety and stress and helps you feel calmer and more confident. We at the Pregnancy and Parents Centre have known this for years, 30 to be exact, from when we first started up the Centre. We are a local charity supporting pregnant women and young families through pregnancy and into early parenthood.
** You are entitled to paid time off work for antenatal care, which includes pregnancy yoga classes when supported by your midwife or GP.
The groups will have approximately 10 women in it so you can get to know everyone over the weeks and relate to those who are experiencing the same feelings, emotions and issues as you.The yoga classes will consist of a mixture of gentle yoga focused on preparing for birth and relaxation. All sessions will be finished with refreshments and a chance for discussion of issues surrounding birth. The sessions last for 2 hours and will be relaxed and informal.
We run our antenatal sessions on a donation basis here at the Pregnancy and Parents Centre because we are a charity.
